Hope is a commnly nourished but, perhaps, misunderstood concept. It raises such questions as how to distinguish between false from genuine hope, the nature or source of the external help that a Hopeful person is calling upon. A person's faith can be dampned or severely tested when it appears that some wishes are granted, when others that appear deserving are denied. It also raises the question of how to reconcile the granting of conflicting wishes to competing individuals or groups.
