Food for Thought
Holding my Thoughts to the Light
My thoughts are not always trustworthy friends,
I must ask myself often what they really portend.
Like the message of a blimp across the clear, blue sky,
I read here in my mind a big, walloping lie!
I had a thought one day,
held it up to the light,
and oh, my goodness,
it just wasn’t right!
I was watering the plants,
looking at my list,
thinking of all the chores
I still had to finish.
There was a story I’d been telling
myself all along,
and it often went ‘round
in my head like a song.
It went like this:
“I do everything ‘round here!”
but that just wasn’t true,
as there’s someone quite dear
who washes my car
and mows the grass,
plants the vegetables,
does lots of tasks.
I certainly don’t do
more than my share;
my thoughts to the contrary
were simply not fair.
I talked to my husband later that day,
he confirmed a mind in disarray.
He said, “I think it’s quite fair,
we each do half, about our share.”

It is not unlikely that you or someone you know has felt the same way, or asked the same as expressed in this introductory Food for Thought.
First of all, one needs to recognize that these are not just passing questions or feelings. They reflect an inner stirring that demand answers or resolution, otherwise they fester, make us unhappy, moody and in those quiet moments when we are left alone with our thoughts, Life becomes difficult to discern, and its purpose an uncomfortable mystery. Giving up and resigning one's fate to "the enigma or inequities of Life" is simply postponing confronting a stirring that just refuses to go away.
We may not be able to answer your specific questions, or allay your specific feelings and misgivings.
But, through our blogs and videocasts we try to explore the human experiencing from a Spiritual perspective, because we believe that it is only from this perspective that anyone can begin to gain more insight to their inner stirrings. And, this Spiritual perspective has to be based on knowledge of the Principles/Laws that govern life, as well as all human activities. Armed with this knowledge, the true seeker can begin gradually to discern plausible answers to the burning questions that beset them. This knowledge will also help to transform the mindset, thereby suggesting a different pathway to self-discovery and a deeper understanding of Life and Living.

The role of Thoughts in our Spiritual Ascent, Downfall, Earthly Happiness or Misery
Many operate under the belief that Thoughts are Free. In other words, thoughts should not be controlled, and one is at liberty to indulge in any thoughts they desire, because, after all, thoughts do no harm. Some even advocate engaging in thoughts of fantasy as a means to "fulfill" desires that one would otherwise not attain or openly fulfill.
Abdrushin, the author of "In The Light of Truth" (The Grail Message) debunks this belief and gives very detailed explanation of the great danger that it holds for the Earthly and Spiritual well being of all who believe and indulge in this. The same danger obtains from indulging in thoughts of resentment or revenge, even when one is justifiably the victim.

Thoughts & Attitudes - Foundations to our daily sense of inner Balance or Imbalance

Every person suffers from some form of imbalance or the other. For many, this imbalance is only awaiting an opportunity to manifest. Therefore, no one should judge or condemn another whose imbalance is manifesting. Rather, we should make the effort to become better acquainted with our inner self and slowly begin to work to overcome and ultimately eradicate our own unexpressed, imbalances.
To accomplish this, we must honestly and sincerely reflect on the motivations behind all of our Thoughts, Words, and Actions.
As the first step, we must learn and begin to cultivate the habit of holding our thoughts up to the Light before giving vent to them because thoughts form the foundation for all arising emotions, feelings, actions and even the manifestation of trauma.
